Kastelbell Castle

Kastelbell Castle is located on an imposing rock in a picturesque position at the left shore of Adige River, where the river comes out of the deep Latschander Gorge and continues to the lower Venosta Valley. The rock is not high, but is so steep towards the valley, that the castles' south has always been protected by nature.

Castel Juval

Reinhold Messner is South Tyrol's most known mountaineer, author, book writer and "Yeti researcher". Here in Castelbello-Ciardes he has is "private base camp": Juval Castle in the community Castelbello-Ciardes. The mountaineer has been living in this historic castle since 1983 and he has several art collections: a vast Tibetan collection, a picture gallery of mountains, and a mask collection from 5 continents.
